Deep Tissue Massage involves the manipulation of the deeper layers of muscle and soft tissues in the body. It requires the massage therapist to melt into the tissue before reaching deeper layers by warming up the muscle's top layer. It is a more focused type of massage to release knots (adhesions) and chronic muscle tension. Deep Tissue Massage helps with headaches, chronic muscular pain, limited mobility and injury rehabilitation. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks or low back tightness. Although this type of massage can be a little uncomfortable at times, it should not be painful. No pain, no gain is a common misconception and does not always apply.

Considered passive, or relaxed stretching. The therapist performs the stretches with the client totally relaxed, allowing the muscles and joints to go through their full range of motion (ROM). Stretching helps increase flexibility, remove adhesions and allows the body to move more fluidly. Because tight muscles, joints, and other soft tissues can be painful, decrease movement, and possibly lead to injury, clients can benefit from stretching techniques that improve function, restore mobility, and increase joint movements. Relax, and get a deeper stretch while we do all the work. Stretching can be a stand alone service or added on in any session.
